Freedom Fair 2010 was another successful and memorable celebration of our nation’s independence. Through the dedicated efforts of a small army of volunteers, the entire event went off smoothly and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
Challenges still remain to ensure the future of Freedom Fair. Although the organizers have done everything possible to find the funds needed to continue the tradition of Freedom Fair, the economy and other issues have made fundraising more challenging than ever in 2010.
If Freedom Fair is a part of your 4th of July traditions, and you enjoy and appreciate this annual celebration, we hope you’ll go to the “Donate Now” button at the bottom of this page and give what you can. Your donation will help secure the future of this popular event.
You may wonder what we are doing to help ourselves. In addition to working closely with numerous local businesses to develop profitable sponsorship opportunities, organizers offered three new activities in hopes of raising critical funds – the Freedom Fair Fireworks Raffle, sponsored by the Silver Cloud Inn, and won by Collette Babson, who kicked off the Fireworks Extravaganza; and two VIP cruises for members of the Freedom Fair Captains’ Club. The proceeds from those three activities, plus donations from generous friends and supporters on the day of the event, and those since will help us get closer to our goal. However, we have a ways to go.
We are committed to preserving Freedom Fair as a free community event; and hope that we can depend on those who enjoy this event every year to help. Your help may not be monetary; we are also in need of volunteers to serve on the board of directors, as well as planning committee leaders and members. We are grateful for any help you may provide!

MBC throws down Freedom Fair challenge
The law firm, of Messina Bulzomi Christensen of Tacoma, has helped kick off a fund raising campaign to save and support Tacoma’s annual 4th of July Freedom Fair. The firm donated $200.00 per lawyer in the firm, that’s $1,000. They are challenging all businesses in Tacoma, Pierce County and the whole South Sound to match them. Read more about the challenge on their website.
